1. DATE: Saturday, September 21, 2024 11 am – 12:30 pm
INSTRUCTOR: Rev. Premajyothi
You are more than the body and Mind! In this class, we will learn about The Five Koshas/Sheaths of our ‘body,’ What is Prana, and why it is so important. How do Prana and Mantra relate? What is Pranayama and its promise for the health of our body and mind.

Let’s delve deeper into the world of Pranayama Kosha, exploring the intricacies of the Ida and Pingala nadis, the benefits of working with the body’s Sub-pranas/Vayus, and how some basic knowledge of the Chakras can help you understand how to keep the body healthy.

Optimize your Pranayama Practice by learning and integrating key elements: Pranayama preparation, ideal sitting positions, dietary considerations, and general guidelines for a successful practice.

The best way to learn about Pranayama’s benefits is to experience them directly.! Still, it’s nice to know that its benefits are backed by Science! Learn more and feel confident in your practice of pranayama. Understand how the irregular distribution of prana can be a source of dis-ease.

Dive into the benefits of sensitizing, balancing, tranquilizing, and vitalizing Pranayamas. Learn how knowing the focus of a pranayama technique will help you choose which technique or series of techniques will aid in a particular condition.

In this class, we will explore the fascinating topics of the Physiology of Breathing, Physiology of the Nose, and Physiology of Pranayama. Understanding these concepts can help us appreciate the intricate workings of our respiratory system and how practices like Pranayama can positively impact our well-being.

Pranic Bank Account? Supercharging and Directing prana? Use of Visualizations in Pranayama and Yoga Nidra? This class will teach us what we mean by these concepts and how these practices can help transform our physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Margabandhu Martarano has served as Director of the New Jersey IYI, at the request of Sri Swami Satchidananda, for over 50 years. Margabandhu is a Senior Certified Integral Yoga Instructor, proficient in all aspects of Yoga, having learned directly from Swami Satchidananda in the early years. He currently sits on the Integral Yoga Teachers Council and is sought after for his opinion and advice on many topics yoga and health related. His long term focus and present concern is teaching Pranayama for health of body and mind as well as nutrition, cleansing techniques and understanding all the benefits of an Integral Yoga hatha class.

Rev. Premajyothi Devi is a certified Integral Yoga Instructor for Meditation, Cardiac, Children’s, Pre-natal, Post-Partum, Raja Yoga as well as Beginner and Intermediate Hatha Yoga. Premajyothi also is a certified Basic Yoga Teacher Trainer, helping to offer the great teachings of Integral Yoga to the next generation of yoga teachers. On August 19, 2006, she deepened her commitment to Sri Swami Satchidananda and the teachings of Integral Yoga, and became an Integral Yoga Minister. She is available for Weddings, Memorial Services, House Blessings, Baby Blessings, Ecumenical Services, Spiritual Counseling, and wherever the universal teachings of yoga are requested.
