The Integral Yoga Institute of NJ has again brought together another set of world-class speakers who will share their expertise and information based on science.
This course will keep you inspired and provide tips, information, and practices to defend yourself against disease, anxiety, and stress.

David ChristopherMaster Herbalist
David W. Christopher MH was raised in the simple ways of natural health by his father, the famous herbalist, Dr. John R. Christopher, MH. ND. David’s interests grew beyond his university study and in 1974 he focused on the discipline of Herbology. In 1979 he became a Master Herbalist and the director of The School of Natural Healing. Today, thousands safely apply the Christopher methodology thanks to his directorship. David is an international lecturer and was instrumental in establishing England’s College of Herbs and Natural Healing. He is the author of An Herbal Legacy of Courage and various articles on herbs and nutrition have been published in many magazines. David and his wife Fawn host a weekly radio program, “A Healthier You.”
Dr. Amrita McLanahanYogaville's Attending Holistic Physician
Amrita (Sandra) McLanahan, M.D., is a nationally recognized authority on preventive medicine, nutrition, stress reduction and primary family health care. As Director of Stress Management Training at the Preventive Medicine Research Institute for twenty years, she worked with Dr. Dean Ornish to document the benefits of dietary change and stress management to prevent and treat cardiovascular disease and cancer. Dr. McLanahan is the author of the book Surgery and its Alternatives: How to Make the Right Choices for Your Health and is the medical consultant for the book, Dr. Yoga.
Dr. Phil MollicaDentist
Dr. Phil Mollica is considered a pioneer in the development and integration of oxygen/ozone application in dental medicine. Dr. Mollica was introduced to ozone in 1997 and developed the standard of care in ozone dentistry, as we know it today. Dr. Mollica has earned three doctorates in dentistry, integrative medicine and naturopathic medicine from University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey and Capital University of Integrative Medicine, Washington D.C. respectively. He also earned a master’s degree in Human Anatomy from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry. Dr. Mollica is the founder and President of the American College of Integrative Medicine and Dentistry (ACIMD). Dr. Mollica is a full Professor of Integrative Biologic Dental Medicine. He has earned his Accreditation and Mastership within the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicolgy and is currently Chairman of the Periodontal and Associated Soft Tissue Committee. Dr. Mollica is board certified in Integrative Medicine, Naturopathic Medicine, Oro-Facial Pain, and Integrative Biologic Dental Medicine. He travels the world and trains doctors in ozone therapy and Integrative Biologic Dentistry. He is an international lecturer, trainer, author and serves on numerous boards. Dr. Mollica is an editor on a number of scientific journals. He is currently serves as the Vice-President of the American Academy of Ozone Therapy. He is in private practice in Saddle Brook, New Jersey with his wife Dr. Karen Rockefeller-Mollica.
Margabandhu Martarano has served as Director of the New Jersey IYI, at the request of Sri Swami Satchidananda, for over 50 years. Margabandhu is a Senior Certified Integral Yoga Instructor, proficient in all aspects of Yoga, having learned directly from Swami Satchidananda in the early years. He currently sits on the Integral Yoga Teachers Council and is sought after for his opinion and advice on many topics yoga and health related. His long term focus and present concern is teaching Pranayama for health of body and mind as well as nutrition, cleansing techniques and understanding all the benefits of an Integral Yoga hatha class.
Rev. Lakshmi BarselIntegral Yoga Minister
Rev. Lakshmi Barsel, Ph.D. is a senior disciple of Sri Swami Satchidananda and a long-time member of Satchidananda Ashram-Yogaville. She is also a senior Integral Yoga minister and yoga instructor. She teaches Hatha Yoga Levels 1 & 2, gentle yoga, meditation, raja yoga, karma yoga and on-going scripture classes. For many years she served the Ashram as the Director of Program Development and now volunteers as the Director of the Satchidananda Prison Project. With the help of her husband Rev. Paraman Barsel, she has developed Correspondence Courses on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita to assist prisoners in their understanding of these sacred scriptures.
Rev. Paraman BarselIntegral Yoga Reverend, Prominent IY Speaker
Reverend Paraman Barsel has been a disciple of Sri Swami Satchidananda since 1970. He has served as president of Yogaville West, the Washington D.C. and New York Integral Yoga Institutes, and Yogaville East in Connecticut and has served on the Board of Trustees and Spiritual Life Board of Satchidananda Ashram-Yogaville, Virginia. He was co-coordinator of the LOTUS Dedication. Paraman was an editorial consultant on Inside the Yoga Sutras and Inside Patanjali’s Words by Rev. Jaganath Carrera as well as several of Sri Swami Satchidananda’s works including the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and To Know Your Self. He helped to design the first Integral Yoga Hatha Basic Teacher Training program, and has taught meditation workshops, Jnana Yoga, Raja Yoga and the other branches of Integral Yoga for many years. He was ordained into the Integral Yoga Ministry in 2007. In addition to teaching he currently helps with the Ashram Prison Project and, with his wife, has co-hosted hundreds of Sutra Study Gatherings in their home for many years.
Rev. Viktoras KulvinskasHealth Advocate, Enzymatic Food Specialist
Viktoras Kulvinskas, MS in Theoretical Mathematics and Nuclear Physics, has been a Health Educator for more than 50 years, best-selling author of Survival In The 21st Century plus eight other popular books, co-founder of Hippocrates Health Institute with Ann Wigmore and prominent speaker on heath and anti-aging benefits of live, highly enzymatic foods. He presently lives in· Montezuma, Costa Rica. Viktoras has been a long time friend and mentor for our director, Margabandhu.
Often sharing from ‘another zone’, Viktoras has his own unique and engaging way of
sharing critical information on health and well being. This time Viktoras will share his
findings on Survival Strategies for the 2020s with the use of enzymatic plant based
nutrition, fermented foods. supplements and 7 day indoor micro-green and sprout salads.
Zen Master Wu KwangBuddhist Master Teacher, Psychological Counselor
Zen Master Wu Kwang, (Richard Shrobe, LCSW) is guiding teacher of the Chogye International Zen Center of New York and lives in New York with his family. Before he began practicing Zen he studied intensively with Swami Satchidananda, living with his wife and children for four years at the Integral Yoga Institute in New York. He has a Master’s degree in Social Work and did six years of postgraduate study in Gestalt, including training with Laura Perls. He has been director of a drug program, and has served as an instructor in psychiatry and Gestalt therapy. He started practicing with Zen Master Seung Sahn in 1975 and was given inka in 1984. He received dharma transmission on August 1, 1993. A former professional musician, his undergraduate training was in music theory, and he also studied with jazz pianist, Barry Harris. Currently he has a private practice in psychotherapy specializing in the Gestalt approach. He has written three books: Open Mouth Already a Mistake, Don’t Know Mind: The Spirit of Korean Zen, and Elegant Failure: A Guide to Zen Koans, all available from Amazon.com.
