Throughout the day, you will be guided through practice, reflection, service, and devotion in a supportive and uplifting environment.

Padma Maria Carmichael will lead an integrated session including:

This grounding experience prepares body and mind for a full day of study and reflection.

Margabandhu will guide a thoughtful discussion on:

Discover how these paths transform daily life into spiritual practice.
πΏ Sacred Nourishment (12:30pm)
Rev. Premajyothi will offer a lovingly prepared vegan lunch, beginning with a traditional meal prayer β honoring food as prasad and nourishment for body and spirit.
(Virtual participants will be invited to prepare a simple meal at home and join the blessing.)
πΏ Living the Teaching (1:30pm)
Participants will engage in a Karma Yoga activity, led by Rev. Premajyothi β putting philosophy into action through mindful service.
πΏ Afternoon Wisdom (2:30pm)
Rev. Premajyothi will lead discussion on:
β’ Raja Yoga β the path of meditation and mastery of the mind
β’ Jnana Yoga β the path of self-inquiry and wisdom
Explore how these teachings offer clarity, peace, and inner freedom.

Pranayama Retreat Day
Breath is life. Breath is energy. Breath is the bridge between body and mind.
On Saturday, April 18, the Integral Yoga Institute, Fair Lawn offers a full-day retreat dedicated to Pranayama β the conscious regulation of the breath to purify, energize, and steady the mind.
Rooted in the teachings of Swami Satchidananda, this retreat provides both practice and understanding, allowing participants to deepen safely and meaningfully.
With a similar schedule as first Retreat day, this Day you will experience:

Margabandhu MartaranoE-RYT-500Margabandhu Martarano has served as Director of the New Jersey IYI, at the request of Sri Swami Satchidananda, for over 50 years. Margabandhu is a Senior Certified Integral Yoga Instructor, proficient in all aspects of Yoga, having learned directly from Swami Satchidananda in the early years. He currently sits on the Integral Yoga Teachers Council and is sought after for his opinion and advice on many topics yoga and health related. His long term focus and present concern is teaching Pranayama for health of body and mind as well as nutrition, cleansing techniques and understanding all the benefits of an Integral Yoga hatha class.

Rev. Premajyothi DeviE-RYT-500Rev. Premajyothi Devi is a certified Integral Yoga Instructor for Meditation, Cardiac, Childrenβs, Pre-natal, Post-Partum, Raja Yoga as well as Beginner and Intermediate Hatha Yoga. Premajyothi also is a certified Basic Yoga Teacher Trainer, helping to offer the great teachings of Integral Yoga to the next generation of yoga teachers. On August 19, 2006, she deepened her commitment to Sri Swami Satchidananda and the teachings of Integral Yoga, and became an Integral Yoga Minister. She is available for Weddings, Memorial Services, House Blessings, Baby Blessings, Ecumenical Services, Spiritual Counseling, and wherever the universal teachings of yoga are requested.

Padma Maria CarmichaelQHHTPadma Maria Carmichael, is certified by the Integral Yoga Institute to teach Beginner and Intermediate Yoga as well as Meditation, having shared her expertise and passion for yoga for more than 15 years. Maria has extensive experience teaching yoga to autistic and special needs children. She is a Level Two Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT) practitioner, a reiki master and certified in massage therapy, acupressure, neuromuscular therapy, craniosacral therapy and reflexology.
